Demolition of onetime Denver7 building nears completion
by .
Just a bit remains of Denver7’s former building.
The structure at the corner of Speer Boulevard and Lincoln Street in central Denver is being demolished by Property Markets Group, the developer that bought the property from the television station’s parent company in 2021.
PMG plans to build an apartment complex at the site.
The company said in late August that it was about to start demolition.
Denver7, an ABC affiliate with the call sign KMGH, began operating in the five-story octagonal office building at the corner of Speer and Lincoln in 1969. It relocated to 2323 Delgany St. in RiNo last year.
Other notable demolitions locally this year include Carmen Court and the Royal Palace Motel in Denver, and an office building in Centennial once leased by Arrow Electronics.
Demolition is also imminent for the American Motel along Interstate 70 in Wheat Ridge, the Denver Post recently reported. And signs for a demolition firm are also up along fencing around the shuttered Regal movie theater near the Interstate 25-Hampden Avenue interchange.
